The drawing and painting opus of Kristina Ristic is dominated by figural motifs, especially portraits. Portraits, while evolving towards abstraction, have gathered into few themes: Heads, Conversations, Couples and Scarecrows. The drawing, either a sketch or an art piece itself, is in the core of Kristina Ristc’s art. Her work is characterized by the overlapping of the drawing and the painted surface, by intensive colors overlaid with powerful and subtle strokes that produce a rhythmical liveliness. The paintings are executed in oil on canvas, while the drawings are in ink and oil on paper. Presented work was created in Greece over past three years.
