NIKOS BENOS-PALMER "KARDIA MOU" | 18. September - 30. September |

Those who have a love of working in marble are obliged to travel frequently and to delve deeply back into the very beginning of history.
For Nikos Benos-Palmer the journey was not a long one, since in Greece sculpting in marble has always been an essential element of our culture.
A selected few are able to express their inner world in stone and make it come alive.

"Kardia mou…" (My Heart…)
The title of the exhibition sounds like an invocation, a message from the artist towards his medium, a message which radiates from an unassuming creator signifying love.
Love of time-worn marble.
Love for a broken heart that tends towards becoming once again whole.
Benos - Palmer’s marble hearts are asymmetrically restored, often scared red with memories. Surfaces are sometimes smooth, sometimes rough, with or without colour yet they have the power of works which are able to become whole from its parts.
As if one gives birth, or compliments another or searches to find it’s other.
Scattered like islands in the sea each pulsing to its own beat like lighthouses giving hope with each flashing light.
