The first days of June, I had completed the paintings I’m showing in Scala gallery in Mykonos.
Looking back at Hockney, Kitaj, Bonnard, magazines and many of my favourite illustrators. Listening to music all day, feeling guilty for not painting, wasting time in coffee shops, vinyl stores, and bookstores, I struggled to paint old and new faces. To put them on canvas, juxtapose them, make them mine. This is what I aimed at, I hope I achieved it. The result reflects my mood, not necessarily a style,or a technique.
The title is obviously related to the present-unfortunate-political, social and economic situation in Greece and the rest of the world.
